Dessert Bowl, Stetson, Colonial Couple, Vintage, 22K Gold Trimmed, Made in the U.S.A. The bowl measures 6" across. It is heavily trimmed around the edge with 22K gold. In the center of the bowl is a picture of the colonial couple. There are 6 of these bowls and they are in very good condition. There is only slight wearing of the gold on two of them. They are marked "Stetson Warranted 22K Gold" (see last photo).

Platter, Stetson, Vintage. The Stetson Co. was started in 1946 when Joseph W. Stetson, a dinnerware designer, moved from Chicago to Lincoln, Illinois to take over the Illinois China Co. that had been operating in Lincoln since 1919. By 1955 Mr. Stetson claimed to be the largest manufacturer of individual hand-painted ceramic dinnerware in the U.S. Stetson China closed in 1965. This platter is an example of the company's work. The platter measures 13 3/4" long by 10 1/4" wide. It is in very good condition with just a few light utensil marks on the glaze. It has the "Stetson Hand Painted Underglaze" mark.
